Thomas Neyens (Vice-president)
Hello,
My name is Thomas Neyens, I was born and raised in a great town called Genk and since 2008 I’m living in Hasselt. I have studied biology at UHasselt and the University of Antwerp
and afterwards I decided to start the master in Biostatistics. Now we’re 4 years later and I’ve just entered the third year of my PhD position at Censtat, mainly focusing on analyses of spatial data.
I’ve got two main hobbies: First of all, I play volleyball in VC Genk. So if you don’t know what to do on a Saturday night, you can always come and watch my game J. Afterwards, we
can all go to a party, where I can practice my second big hobby: DJ’ing. I like to spin house and techno, but I’m in for anything, as long as it makes you want to dance all night long J.
Other things I like are travelling, nature, a good movie,...
I’m the vice-president of the board, so I’ll be highly involved in organizing JOSS-events.
By the way, I hope to see you all in huge numbers on these events! Also, if you have any problems with finding your way here at the university or in Belgium as such, do not hesitate to contact me!
I’ve been living here for 26 years now, so I’ll probably be able to help you… J
You can find me in room C12, tel: 011/268275,
